Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion” will be the opening act for the 10-day 2008 Champlain Valley Fair on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. VPR is the presenting sponsor of the show in the Coca-Cola Grandstand.
The popular weekly public radio show, which features a mix of radio comedy sketches, live music and Keillor’s signature monologue “The News from Lake Wobegon,” will be recorded on Aug. 23 for national broadcast on Sept. 6.
“A Prairie Home Companion” is heard weekly on Vermont Public Radio at 6 pm Saturdays and 11 am on Sundays. Tickets go on sale Monday, Dec. 17 at 10 am

Advance tickets include admission to the Champlain Valley Fair (a value of $10).
