Vermont Rails 2008

Model Railroading Show: Gov. Jim Douglas cut the opening ribbon and then played with a few of the model trains at the Vermont Rails 2008 model railroad show at Champlain Valley Exposition Saturday. His wife, Dorothy looks on as Gov. Douglas tries out the remote control for the carnival train layout owned by Lewis Buchspics of Essex Junction. The one-day annual show drew hundreds of model train enthusiasts to see the working train layouts, buy and sell new and used model train cars, engins and equipment. (Photo by Stephen Mease)

Well, the Governor seems to be enjoying himself! There's something about a train that's just inherently fun . . . which is why people prefer taking Amtrak.
